2Zero functions as a comprehensive personal climate management tool and serves as the official app for the Klimathon initiative. Its primary purpose is to support users in actively reducing their carbon footprint through an integrated CO2 calculator and a variety of CO2 reduction challenges.

Participants can join a Klimathon or become part of the 2Zero community, thereby endorsing our commitment to sustainability. The app is designed to facilitate a responsible transition toward a carbon-neutral future by fostering collective climate action.

- I am interested in participating in a Klimathon. Is this the correct platform? -

Absolutely. 2Zero, formerly known as Climate Compass, is the official app associated with the Klimathon. During registration, simply select your Klimathon organizer within the community selection step to join your designated event and enjoy the benefits of community engagement. Prepare for an intensive 42-day period dedicated to climate protection efforts.

- How does 2Zero operate? -

<li>Calculating your ecological footprint 
The app offers an intuitive CO2 calculator, allowing users to assess their ecological impact. A simplified version is available during onboarding, while full functionality unlocks post-registration within your chosen community. This sustainability calculator was developed in collaboration with institutions including the Fraunhofer Institute and the University of Kassel.</li>

<li>Completing challenges to reduce CO2 emissions 
Over 160 tailored climate challenges span various aspects of daily life. Completing these challenges earns valuable climate points. Each challenge provides detailed background information explaining its relevance and potential environmental benefits, with regular updates ensured through partnerships with organizations such as Worldwatchers, Fraunhofer IEEs, the Wuppertal Institute, and the University of Kassel.</li>

<li>Redeeming rewards for climate protection efforts 
Accumulated climate points can be exchanged for sustainable rewards provided by a growing network of partners. This incentive system encourages continuous engagement and positive behavioral change.</li>

<li>Engaging in friendly competition 
For those motivated by competition, users can create teams or join existing ones to collectively accumulate climate points and maximize CO2 savings. Such collaboration fosters community spirit and shared accountability in environmental impact reduction.</li>

The app includes a news section featuring updates on climate initiatives and upcoming events. For further inspiration, the included guidebook offers extensive tips and strategies for sustainable living beyond the challenges provided within the app.
